Overall, the work itself is fine but the management/owners are ONLY concerned with making money and do not care about the employees who make that money for them. On top of that there are no incentives to work harder or opportunities to advance. I'll admit that there were nights were I did not give 100% effort, but when you are criticized with no constructive feedback (combined with the lack of hours or co-workers) it makes working there very demoralizing. While they are sort of like the Managers, they are training one of the associates as Manager now, so that shows there is room for advancement with them. The pay is excellent, starting at $14/hr and quickly going to $15/hr, with really laid back owners who are willing to work around my college class schedule. He since has recovered enough to joke about it.While the owners expect you to treat this as a retail sales job and not a cashier job, I was pleasantly surprised they were cool with and even encouraged me when they caught me singing to customers and using the product as my microphone!
